Entertaining an offer from a 2 hospital health system. I need to clarify this from them but wondering:

1. Is a physicians base salary considered part of the overhead? Or is overhead all other costs except for the base salary?

2. In an employee model, should I be 100% responsible for the overhead. Is it too unreasonable for me to think that the hospital should contribute some $ towards it (since they are benefiting from the technical aspect of the fees).

Thanks in advance!

By doing procedures in a hospital instead of your own clinic, your professional fees take a nearly 50% hit. Meanwhile, the hospital facility fee for each of your procedures is on the order of 4-6x that of your professional fee. It seems to me that in such a setting, most if not all of the overhead costs should come out of those facility fees.
