Does anyone have any idea how to write a rejection letter to a school you have been accepted to? I have made my decision, and now I need to inform the other schools that I would like to withdraw my application. What type of information do you include? Do you tell them the reason why you aren't going there, or just say you decided to go with another school? Any useful advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ive only had to write a witdrawl from waitlist letter but heres my suggestions, thank them for accepting you, tell them where you are going, inform them of the pluses and minuses of their school so they know why you chose the way you did.

dear Admissions of the X School of Medicine,

After careful review of your offer for acceptance, I have made my decision on where I would like to receive my medical education. Unfortunately, as I have a bajillion acceptances and must choose only one institution of study, I regret to inform you that I will not be a part of the 2010 class of X SOM. While your school is an excellent one, I have another acceptance offer that is better than yours. Thus, I wish you the best of luck in constructing your incoming class. Don't worry, it's not you, it's me.

Sincerely,

Funny, but I probably won't use that one.

I just finished writing 4 withdrawal letters so if you want a copy of mine I'd be happy to show it to you. I'm in no way an authority on withdrawal letters but sometimes it's nice to see examples.

Yes, if you wouldn't mind sharing. I would appreciate it.
