any benefits to repeating acls (free) at orientation if ur card doesn't expire til like 8/2008? it's gonna take 2 days.

how long is bls card good for? i got mine beginning of third year of med school. haven't seen it since.

Recert doesn't take two days - that's for the initial exam. You can probably show up on the morning of the 2nd day, review some of the scenarios and take the exam (of course, check with those holding ACLS, but in general, only the new examinees take the whole 2 day course). So you could do the same during orientation, if you wished, or simply take the course closest to next August (before your certification expires); it will probably be held over a Friday/Saturday.

Don't worry about BLS if you are ACLS certified.
