We are excited to once again offer a research fellowship position with Dr. Michael Friedman for 2011-2012. The applicant selected for the spot will be involved in research with an emphasis on the areas of sleep apnea and endoscopic sinus surgery.

The research fellowship at Rush University Medical Center and Illinois Masonic Medical Center offers a unique opportunity to become involved in many projects, all of which are very conducive to publishing in peer-reviewed journals. The typical fellow usually co-authors between 10-15 articles during the course of the year and has the opportunity to present at multiple national and international meetings.

As fellow, you will be charged with coordinating all ongoing and new research projects and will have the opportunity to observe in the OR. Dr. Friedman has a very busy practice and you will be exposed to all aspects of OTO-HNS on a daily basis. This fellowship is perfect for students seeking to build upon their previous research experience in preparation for residency application or re-application. Unmatched students, preliminary surgical interns, and residents in other specialties who are interested in training in Otolaryngology are all encouraged to apply. International medical graduates are also encouraged to apply, but we cannot sponsor visas. Funding for the year may also be available dependent upon grant status and applicant qualifications.

Please send inquiries to: [email protected]

We plan on conducting interviews in Chicago during the first 2-3 Sundays of April until the position is filled.
