Research Fellowships during the Summer

    Hi. does anyone know if you can get research fellowships at other medical schools than your own during the summer of the first and second years? all info is greatly and deeply appreciated. thank you a lot! <img border="0" alt="[Clappy]" title="" src="graemlins/clappy.gif" />

    Yes you may. Whether or not you will get paid while doing research is of course another matter. It is easier to get a paying fellowship if you are a student at that school, but some schools do send flyers out to med schools around the nation asking for students to apply for fully funded research posititions. The other option is applying for research fellowships that are sponsored by national organizations, just about every medical nation organization has fellowships for students, some have criteria that insist that you do the research at a school other then your own too for some reason. The only complicating factor with these is you must apply to these fellowships with a project in mind and that means that you have to find a way to find a research mentor at the school that you want to work at and come up with a project together with your mentor while you are busy at your own medical school.
