The summer before my senior year in high school, I participated in research at UCI. My high school biology teacher had connections at UCI with the head of the pharmocology dept. at UCI. Basically, my teacher took another student and myself down to UCI everyday during the summer to test a medicine that is said to prevent strokes and heart attacks. We did research on different animal vessels (trying to get the drug FDA approved). We are waiting to be published in a journal.

Anyway, I was wondering if something from high school could be put on a med school application? Or are they only interested in things done during college? Thanks!

Primarily they are interested in college/university stuff. However, this is so very much related to your application and you scientific and medical background that I think you should include it.

The worst thing they can do is ignore it.

Without a doubt you should put it on there if you submit for publication and your name is on it.
