Well, I didn't do as good as I had expected on my MCAT in August. So I am already planning on reapplying and retaking the MCAT in April. But I graduate in May and I am trying to think what would be the best thing for me to do next year while I reapply. I visited with the Dean of Admissions for the medical school that I really want to attend to find out what they thought. They said I should do what I want because my only weakness is my MCAT score. I haven't done any research, so I was thinking about doing that. But I am also thinking about getting my Masters in Hospital Administration. I need help....I am confused on what to do...

maybe you can do both??? i dont know how hard it would be..but if i were you, I would go with the research, b/c that has the potential of a publication, and that looks good 🙂 but its up to u.

The Dean of Admissions is right. Do what YOU want to do. What do YOU want to get out of your year off?
Do you like research? Is the school you want to attend a research institution? If the school is, this -might- look good.
What do you want to do with a Masters in Hospital Administration? In addition, how long is the Masters in Hospital Adminsitration program? Some may be more than a year.

Basically, you need to think about how both these experiences will affect you as physician. Do you think one will benefit you more than the other? These are just some things to think about....
