As a canadian in a US medschool (on a student visa), is it difficult to obtain a visa for residency in the US?
Is a student at a disadvantage during the match due to their international status (if they attended a US medical school)?

Just as difficult to get a visa as for any canadian. You'll need H1-B. But since you're in a US school you should be more attractive to many programs and some will be willing to sponsor you, unless you're applying to derm or ophtho or something
