Does residency give out scrubs for free or no?

Hospitals will have scrubs to use for ORs and such. Talk to your other residents. Most of us still bought extra pairs anyways as they were better fitted and more comfortable. You can't use these for OR, but you could use them for night shift/extended shifts depending on your residency program.

Yup. And food and parking.

Free? lol. No.

Included in your 3 years of indentured servitude? Usually.

Wait until you start. Some hospitals require only their scrubs, others let you wear your own. Most will have their own supply. Some won't. Some will only give you a certain number. Wait until you start to find out or ask other residents.

Also, most outpatient clinics wont allow you to attend in scrubs.

We were allowed to wear scrubs to clinic if we were on inpatient service (because we were going back to the hospital after clinic), but otherwise we were expected to wear business attire.

Depends on the hospital and the people who oversee the handling of scrubs. Some won’t give them to anyone but OR staff. Other’s don’t care.

I have some hospital ones but also bought some of my own. With COVID we’re on a scrubs all the time thing, which is nice lol
