so... i basically dont know anything about residency and i am looking for some answers.

how does the selection process work?

what distinguishes a good residency program from a bad one? will it make that big of a difference in the end?

specializations like dermatology are often considered to have very competitive residency programs. is it true? why?

thanks a bundle

wait...are you in med school right now? cause if you are you can prolly post this on another section of sdn.

now if you are applying to med school right now or still in college...i dont think you need to worry too much about it seeing how you will learn about all this stuff while you are in med school.

right now derm, ortho, rads are tough because many people want to do them obviously. good lifestyle with good money. more people apply for limited amount of spots so more competition.

i really cant tell ya what distinguishes a good residency program from a bad one other than if they are getting put on probation or something.
