Where are y'all planning on applying outside of the homeland? I am trying to finish up my amcas and I haven't really seen many out of state schools that accept TX applicants. Anybody have any ideas?

Sorry, I?m not from Texas (but most of my family is) and I don?t know anything about applying out of state as a TX applicant, but I got a kick out of this post, because it?s so true . . .
My uncle, on spending Christmas with my family in KY: "You?ll have to give me directions. It?s been a long time since I?ve been out of the country."
Well Princ I like to be as annoyingly TEXAN as I can. I guess we are a proud people.
And neon...as of right now I'm definitely applying to Tulane. Not because everyone and their mother does, but because I absolutely love Nawlins and the culture there. After that I'm kinda at a loss right now. Don't really know where else I'll have a shot. Especially with my gpa. What about you?
Its hard to convince myself to pay 30,000 a year compared to about 7,000 a year with the 8 med school we have in Texas. I am still applying to about 7 out-of-state schools, though, just to have options.
The only reason I applied to a few schools out-of-state was to be close to family and if I was going the military route. Since I'm not doing military, there's no way in hell I'd pay 30K a year. Texas all the way.

I dont know what you mean by not seeing out of state schools accepting TX applicants. TX has plenty of good medical schools across the "ranking spectrum" and they are all $6550, so most Texans dont leave for that reason alone.
In terms of out of state schools with lots of Texans, you wont find many for that reason. Of course you will see your group of Texans who opt out of the TX schools for Harvard, JHU, etc. Id imagine a lot of the southern schools might be popular as well (Tulane, Emory, Vanderbilt, Duke). But who knows?
