Did anyone get any feedback from these places? Should I assume I don't have a chance if they didn't call or email me?

I sent some thank you notes to people at MGH after the interview and recieved responses that were polite, but not particularly encouraging one way or the other ("we really liked meeting you too, good luck in the match" kind of stuff). I wonder if they just don't do the feedback thing, but who knows.

Some folk have received responses from the PD at Hopkins. They have been in response to a you are #1 letter sent by the applicant. I would never assume you don't have a chance unless you didn't get an interview there.

i got a letter from mgh today - not from the PD, from the group that interviewed me. it sounded very very standard, "thanks for visting, we are sure u are great blah blah ... wish u best of luck, consider us in your decision ..."

this was one of the places i forgot to send a thank u note after my interview, ooops ...

I got a singing telogram from Hopkins today. She showed up at my apartment while I was studying for Step 2. She sang me a nice song and rhymed out that Hopkins would love to have me as an Osler Marine. She then proceeded to give me a lap dance. After the lap dance was over, I was really sprung - and wound up calling the PD at Hopkins to tell him that I was changing Hopkins to my first choice - citing that any program that will send over a hot lady to sing to me and grind my nethers is deserving of my presence. He chuckled a bit in his Louis Black kind of way and told me that I am the only one out of all the applicants who would be getting a singing telogram and lap dance....I guess every thing is a continuum - for some - they get emails - for others - a phone call - for me - a gyrating soprano named Heather. Wow.

no way, i got the same telogram! haha you are funny!! 🙂 i totally feel the same way about these emails/letters ... they are all just formality (some programs do it, and others don't, probably depends something random like the interviewer date) ... it has abolutely no bearing what-so-ever on rank list. just as some of ppl are send thank u letters everywhere while others do not ...

i too received the form letter from MGH. i guess they stay hush hush. the PD never replied to my email, which i thought was weird since they emphasized the fact that we should contact them by email if we had questions.

Got a letter today from MGH... a day after my rank list was due. Did everyone who interview at MGH get a letter?

The Hopkins PD repeatedly said not to put any weight into these post-interview letters either to or from the programs.

With that said, if JHU is your #1, it probably feels better to be in the group who got the form letter than the group who did not.
