My case is kinda unique so I wanna start this new thread here
I used to be a research assistant for almost 2 years. Everything was good at the beginning. However, my relationship with PI got worse toward the end, then I quitted. It's not too bad like we hated each other. It's just like he started having bad impressions, some disappointments abt me since I couldn't come to do assigned works or keep up with appointments with him...(since I was very stressful on schoolworks and a lot of things happened in my life at this time) and so I politely quitted later on (I did come to him very politely to tell him that I wanted to quit to focus on other stuffs)
The thing is I'm trying to apply for a research technician at this time & working on resume. I don't know if I should put this research experience into the resume. Cuz if I do, actually I did in the last year, many new PIs asked about this experience and ALWAYS asked me to give my old PI's contact info (phone #, email, etc) to ask abt me, how I worked, etc. I know that he didn't like me so much at the end and we didn't contact each other ever since (it's abt 2 years until now). So I don't really want new PIs to contact my old PIs. For some reasons, I worked on another job over the last year, so I didn't give those new PIs those requested information.
However, if I don't put this on resume, it looks like I have no research experience at all & I think it'd be harder to get the positions that I wanted. Cuz most of positions preferred several years of experiences...
Is there anyone ever have experience with this??? Please advice!!!
