Hello i'm a junior mo in internal medicine
Saw a 60yearold patient at clinic with history of hemorrhoid and on/off Per rectal bleeding. Last colonoscopy two years ago was normal. However he still has on/off bleeding therefore has self-stopped plavix for half a year (plavix for secondary prevention of stroke; old stroke more than ten years ago). Haemoglobin was stable. Going to attend hemorrhoid clinic +/-banding three months later. The question is, should i tell him to resume plavix until before hemorrhoid clinic (when he would have banding)?
