retake the class?

Hey there,
I attended community college my freshmen year and got a C in Cal I. I transferred to a university my sophomore year, and got an A- in Calc II. I wanted advice as to if I should retake calc I at my university just to pull up my GPA which is kinda low 3.4, or just keep the higher grade in Calc II so that med schools see that I improved in the higher level class.

you applying to DO schools? DO schools will replace the lower grade with the higher retake. MD schools will just average them. but honestly... retaking courses that are so directly in sequence with each other (unlike bio 1 and 2 which don't really build on each other) is kind of pointless, IMO. if you do well in the later class(es), which you have, you've already proven what a retake would prove anyway.
