how does amcas, schools you apply to or whomever might see your transcripts feel about taking a class over and doing better? I also heard that if you do better than before, the two grades are averaged out for a final grade, is that true? I have a couple of classes that I needed to retake and was hoping it would better my situation. I got C's in both of them. any help, thanks!

amcas will average the two classes unfortunately. It's not ideal having to retake, but many schools look at improvement and overall achievement in your junior and senior years.

One of the admissions people told me that instead of a retake of the same class, it's advisable to take upper level classes in the same field and do well on them. They see that being more favorable as opposed to retaking a class.
