I know many of you have opted not to do the 401b/k because many places will not match but I'm curious none-the-less. Once I get some responses I'm going to move this into the finance forum for reference. This is a question I get asked alot.

I had to have a portion taken out and put in a 403b plan the University of CA had going. We didn't have to pay Social Security but we were obligated to pay into the 403b. It was good because I wound up with about $20K that I rolled into a personal IRA after I graduated. Much better than throwing money away on Social Security which I'll never see.
