I graduated college a few years ago and was ready to apply to medical school (took prereqs, mcat, extracurriculars, etc), but I decided to switch fields to computers. However, after working in the IT field, I realize it is not for me and I would like to become a doctor. Will it look bad to medical schools that I am switching back to medicine and hurt me as an applicant? Thanks!

Thanks, also, do I need to get more clinical hours or can I use the hours from when I was a pre-med in college?

It always helps to have continued clinical experience but the importance of doing it currently depends on how much exposure and total hours you had in college.

I am actually switching from premed to IT back to premed, will medical schools view me as not committed to medicine?

They don’t have that much time and energy to psychoanalyze your life. If you pay your application fee and have decent stats you have the possibility of an A.
