I have a few review article publication on various disorders in a clinical field. Most of them are 1st or 2nd author. How significant are those? I have heard from others that it doesn't mean much since review article does not involve actual experiments.

Any inputs will be appreciated :)

Better than nothing. Not as much as research publications.

That's all I have and several of my interviewers have loved it. At the undergrad level it's much more about the experience and what you get out of a publication than the impact of your pub. Of course a first author, primary research pub in a major journal is going to probably be even more impressive, but a review article pub is still really good-looking to most schools.

If the publications are in peer reviewed journals geared towards the research community, then while they may not be the equivalent of original research they are nonetheless a very respectable achievement that few accomplish in undergrad.
