Based on my understanding, there are 3 possible scenarios, but I'm not exactly sure which one is the most accurate. I know it may depend on the school, but if you are an interviewer or an adcom, I would love to hear about the format at your school!

1. The interview is a faculty/student but is NOT on the adcom. The comments/evals are sent to the adcoms for review.

2. The interview is a faculty/student who is on the adcom. However, once their comments/evals are sent, they are no longer involved with that applicant, and post-II decision will be considered by other adcoms.

3. The interview is a faculty/student who is on the adcom. In addition to their comments/evals, the interviewer will continue to be involved. They will vote on that applicant, elaborate more about the applicant during the adcom meetings, etc.

Our local medical school also recruits professionals, including faculty at other institutions and practitioners, adding to the "non-faculty/student and not on the adcom".
