Any input is much appreciated!

About me:
  • Single
  • OOS for both schools
  • Not interested in specializing
  • Open to practicing anywhere after DS
BOTH schools:
  • Block schedule
  • P/F grading
  • No internal specialty residency programs --> can handle harder cases = more clinical experience
  • Similar tuition…altho. ASDOH’s fees breakdown seems ambiguous & outdated? (if anyone has more specifics on this, please let me know!)
  • Affordable COL
School 1: Roseman
Pros
  • Individual and team assessments – very team oriented
  • 4 day weekends if you pass exams
  • Utah is a really beautiful state with lots of outdoor activities
  • I prefer the cold
Cons:
  • Hearing very mixed reviews from students’ experiences
  • Class of 2026 will become a 3-year program, not sure how their D3 will conflict with my D4 year
School 2: ASDOH
Pros:
  • External rotation sites in D4
  • Public health + community focus
  • More affordable housing options for studios/1BR (starts at ~$800 vs. $1k in UT)
Cons:
  • Hot

I've heard a lot of good things about clinical experience at ASDOH. the external rotations are so much more valuable than dental school clinic time as you will come to realize in D4.

FYI, you could totally change your mind on specializing as time goes on, though that's not super important rn. ASDOH has an ortho program as well btw.

I don't think you could go wrong either way, but truthfully I don't know much about Roseman.

I got accepted to both. ASDOH hands down. Roseman does not have a good reputation and is a joke quite honestly.

I recognize this is late, so curious on what school you chose. Let us know.
