Rush U...on HOLD?

Well I just got the letter from Rush that I've been placed on Hold before receiving an interview. Did anybody else get this letter? What are the chances of getting out of the Hold category at Rush?? I am a non-resident if it helps.

I guess its at least better than a rejection, but I would really like to at least interview at Rush. Any input on Hold list movement would be appreciated.

I can't speak to Rush specifically, but there seems to be two kinds of holds schools use.

The first is truly a temporary hold. (See Jot's experience with UCSD). From the reading on SDN (no personal experience), it seems like the UCs use this alot.

The other is really a rejection letter without the nerve to actually use those words. I think I remember Shamthis may have got one of these. You may want to contact him and ask him what school it is.
