Does anybody know how the salary of an orthodontist in the US compares to an orthodontist in Canada? Are they comparable or can one expect to earn a lot more in the US? I have heard that MD salaries are higher in the states and am wondering if the same is true for the dental specialties.

there is a VAST difference in a 1st year associate's salary (~150K) versus a 10 year well run private practice doc's salary (200-500K or more?) in both countries. but if you are comparing a first year associate in both countries, i dont think they would be that different. you can expect to pay higher taxes in canada.
