Realistically, how much should I be expecting to make as a physical therapist during my first 5 years of practice? Given that i'll probably be out school 4-5 years from now In areas specifically like California, Washington, Texas, Chicago, Florida, Philly, Arizona (if you wanted more specifics).

nice username :)

It depends on the area of PT...inpatient vs outpatient vs home health vs school-based.

With the companies I'm familiar with, it looks like between 60-65k for the first few years in outpatient ortho. this is in Chicago.

All depends on how hard you are willing to sell yourself. If you want the money to just come in easily by working an average amount and not putting in a lot then you won't get a lot out but you will still earn a good living if you manage money well. If you want more then it is there. I don't care what anyone says...
