Can somebody give me a pay range from personal experience for average3 yearly salary for an Osteopathic ER doc? I'm trying to way out paying the exhorbitant loans back!

look up the salary for ER docs where you would like to practice....there is no difference in pay b/w the degrees

Unfortunately, Osteopathic ER Doctors, by law and oath, are prohibited from earning anything above six figures- most are in the $20,000-30,000 range. I'd recommend 'accidentally' defaulting on your loans now or just file pre-emptively for bankruptcy before the laws change.

😕 I'm sure this is aimed at humor, but I'm just not finding it.

D.O. about to graduate from an allopathic. I am moonlighting at an area hospital that offered me 65,000 sign on for two years and 150/hr w/ malpractice and health benefits. However, I am looking into places that pay 180+/hr with benefits. They are out there and fairly easy to find. Also, these are not the most desireable areas, but not bad. The great places to live don't pay as much, or so I have been told by recruiters.

It is going to allow me to pay off all debt in a few years and move to where I really want to live. I don't know exactly where that is yet. These places aren't that bad but they have problems in certain areas getting board certified EM docs. Many have FP physicians staffed.

Agreed. The largest EM physician group in the state starts at around $300k/year.
