SAT Verbal Score vs. MCAT Verbal Score

Please post what you got on SAT verbal and what you got on MCAT verbal. Is there any correlation?

The two sections are totally different. The SAT Verbal is a glorified vocabulary test with sentence completion, antonyms, analogies, etc. If you have a big vocabulary, you'll do well on that section. Plus, it's a lot easier to improve SAT verbal than MCAT verbal. When I took the SAT's, I thought the verbal was going to kick my ass coz I never read and had just an average vocabulary, consisting mostly of ebonics. Instead of panicking, I just memorized a bunch of big words in the 2 weeks leading up to the exam. 😀 The MCAT verbal tests your ability to focus while reading the most boring, dry, incomprehensible crap known to mankind. That, coupled with the fact that I have the attention span of a six year old who forgot to take his ritalin made it tough to concentrate. Having a big vocabulary is just not enough for MCAT verbal. This is where you peeps who read for pleasure or whatever should shine!

You can see, there's just one big blob. I tried to add trendlines, but none of them heavily correlated with the data. I'd run a regression, but I don't have a program like STATA.

(I just took my last final as an undergrad yesterday 😀 , so I have plenty of time on my hands. maybe I should use that time to do my amcas application......)
