Scenario Planning, Someone Help me Decide

My situation: I'm going to UCI for sure at this point and I'd like to move down a bit early to settle in. I can give ANY date to move in for on campus housing and it should work (pending availability near that time). I don't want to move down until there is NO HOPE of getting a call from Cornell. Yeah, if I get the call it would probably come in May or June, but still, I couldn't move to Irvine knowing that there may be a chance (even the smallest chance) of still going to Cornell especially since Cornell starts first. So, my question is... when is the LAST POSSIBLE DAY CORNELL WOULD MAKE A CALL??

Cornell- Orientation week is Aug 23rd
Classes start Aug 30th

UCI- Orientation week is Sep 1st
Classes start Sep 7th

What should I choose as my move in date for UCI housing (due this week)?

what is the latest date that you can give them? mid aug.? you will probably hear from cornell by then right? i think the latest possible date is the first day of classes

yeah, to be on the safe side...its a little easier it seeems since they have housing whereas it would be harder for someone if they had to find an apt..go with late Aug.

i don't think it sounds unreasonable...as long as you are there before orientation starts...what kind of waitlist does cornell have? and how long would you wait for them?

😕 Grrr. I hope I made this clear to the AD comm! I'll go even if I have to miss the first day or two of classes!

Maybe I should write another letter.

hehe...i was just sitting here trying to write a letter of intent to drexel...i wanna go there so badly...question..do you know if it is better to write an LOI before or after they make a decision...I had my interview on 4/23/04, so this week will make it three weeks..and they said it would take 6-8 weeks.

Write it now. Its May 11th. Send it. If you don't have any acceptances its sort of meaningless though right?
