Hi everyone! I would like a critique of my school list.

Here is my application information:

cGPA: 3.9
sGPA: 3.93
LizzyM: 75
Wars: 94

I am a senior undergrad at a state school and I am taking a gap year to work as a patient care assistant, do research, save money, and apply to medical school.

200 hours clinical volunteering, 100 hours in rural ED as volunteer patient care assistant, 100 hours in pediatric inner city medicaid clinic as nutrition educator
400 hours clinical work as a patient care assistant at a large regional hospital (projected hours 2000+)

250 hours nonclinical volunteering educating low income children and teaching them leadership skills
250 hours habitat for humanity volunteering in both rural and inner city neighborhoods

500 hours biomedical research, (projected hours 1000+) 1 first author poster presentation at a local conference, 1 2nd author pub in neuroscience journal, more pubs and presentations in the works

Leadership: Volunteer Coordinator and Board Member of Literacy club that helps kids with their reading skills for 3 years, Mentor and tennis coach for extremely low income middle school and high school students for 3 years, MCAT teacher of a class of 50 students for my university (the class costs 3$ per week per person and it is intended to support low income students who can't afford a 2500$ mcat course)

Letters of Rec: good letters overall: 2 Science professors, 1 MD, 1 work manager, 1 PI, 1 Non science professor, 1 from each of the heads of my volunteering organizations

Shadowing: 50 hours rural primary care, I am working on finding some specialist shadowing

Very interested in under served family med

Looks good. Your app is stellar. Delete Colorado and replace with Harvard, Yale, and NYU.

Thank you! Why should I remove Colorado? They seem pretty OOS friendly and I really want to live there

Maybe an adcom like @Goro could tell you more; if you’re dead set on Colorado, leave it. But you are a stellar applicant and should shoot for the stars. A dozen top 20s, eight or ten mid tiers, and your state schools to round out the list.
