Looking for some critical feedback. This list is too long, and my wallet is not. Plus, I want to pay schools only where I have a chance. Looking to LIKELY practice primary care in suburban/urban settings (no interest in rural). Here are my stats:

White male, MN Resident, 26yo, suburban, not disadvantaged

MCAT: 506 (128, 124, 126, 128)

cGPA: 3.5 (3.8 factoring out 6 year ago courses)

sGPA: 3.38 (3.7 factoring out 6 year ago courses)

Nonclinical Volunteer Hrs: 150
Clinical Volunteer Hrs: 150 (800 w/ animal)
Shadowing Hrs: 100
Research Hrs: 50

Ideal Medical Schools/Locations:

· Central Michigan Medical College

· Indiana University

· Loyola

· Medical College of Wisconsin

· Michigan State

· Oakland University

· Rosalind Frank

· Rush (school used to submit)

· University of Arizona – Tucson

· University of Illinois

· University of Iowa (Roy/Lucille)

· University of Minnesota

· Wayne State

Consideration Locations:

· Albany

· Creighton

· Georgetown

· George Washington

· University of Kentucky

· Wake Forest

Please help me trim the list to reasonable schools.

Why not DO?

I'm going to throw some DO apps out there too. They calc'ed my GPA at 3.5 and 3.6 which is ALMOST what it should be.
That's good. I just ask because my GPA is similar to yours (including the fact that concurrent enrollment course are dragging me down). I got a 519 on the MCAT and have been trying to decide if it's worth it to apply DO as well (money wise).

I'd apply to some DOs too. The MSAR gives you the breakdown of 10th percentile GPAs for matriculants and theyre all at mine if not higher.. DO school stats seem.. shaky in comparison to MD stats

Not necessary if you have a good list or a lucky state.

Eh- Utah. Odds are definitely best to get into the UUSOM, but It's not like some states back east that have half a dozen schools. I worked pretty hard on my school list, hopefully it's enough. Since my gpa is similar to OP, maybe I'll share here for his benefit as well and get your feedback.

Albany
Albert Einstein
Boston
EVMS
Dartmouth
Georgetown
George Washington
Hofstra
Indiana
NYMC
Quinnipiac
Rosalind Franklin
Ohio State
Tufts
USUHS
Rochester
SIG
VCU
Utah
Yale

You really need your own thread! This one is for OP.

Basically looked for places where I'm above 10th percentile for gpa and below 90th percentile for the MCAT, while being friendly to OOS
