Can you give more details about your ECs? 50 hours of non-clinical volunteering versus 300 hours would make a world of a difference.

stanford is a huge reach considering you don't have any pubs. Just because you have decent grades and a good MCAT does not mean you should apply to all the top schools. The poster who just asked for advice a few minutes ago on this thread, however, has a good shot at stanford in my opinion

Hi, thanks for responding. Sorry, I've updated the post with some more information.

You should get several interviews, but this looks like an expensive list, so cutting a few would be advisable. Eliminate any place you don't want to live due to weather, too urban/rural/whatever you think is important about the surrounding community, etc.

A good list! Delete the ones in red. Add East TN-Quillen IF you're from rural western NC.

Thanks @Goro!

Would you recommend any more reaches? or should I just play it safe, and apply where my stats are in range/above range?

I know Duke, Mayo, Cornell, Icahn are all punching above my weight, should I just call it at that?

I'm inclined to advise playing it safe regarding the research powerhouses. Mayo is quirky, so that should stay on the list. Also consider VCU, EVMS and Netter.

Hey @Goro and @Pathdocmd so I think I have a final list now (applying to 27 schools), do you think I have too many reaches, or too many low-yield schools (i.e. BU? very interested in applying, stats are similar, but im deterred by the low-yield)
