Hi,

I was wondering how much ur school of undergrad matters when applying to med schools. Does going to a more competitive school give u extra "pts" or does it not really matter. I have heard both arguments.

Hi there,

Do a forum search for "importance of undergraduate" and you'll find that there are numerous threads about this already. I know because I had the same question a few months ago.

wow...this is when you know you've approached the beginning of the next application season.....

Or when high schoolers near graduation...

Yea, maybe u should take a peek at my location.

To make it short, the prestige of your undergrad does have some effect on your candidacy to med school, but not as much as several other factors that also come into play.
