How much do you all think schools would make if they sold acceptances on ebay??

BU is saying that they had 10,000 applicants at $100 each....as much as I would love to go there, I can't imagine anyone would or could pay that much!!!

Think of it this way.... Since you can't buy an acceptance, how much money have you spent in preparing for it? Here's my numbers...

undergrad: 7500 x4 = $30000
kaplan: 1400 = $31400
MCATs: 180x2 = $31760
AMCAS (12) ~500 = $32260
Secondaries: 1000 =$33260
interviews: 300 = $33560

So, if I could buy an acceptance instead of doing all this prep work, then I'd expect to pay at least $30,000. Sounds pricey, but frankly, its what you did pay to get a chance at medical school.

Im not going to do all the math. but a private school education from K through Ivy costs about $240,000.

so, $30,000 would be quite a bargain.

but, lets be honest, an education is priceless.

Since I've applied to med schools a few times, I figure I've probably spent $10,000 on AMCAS, secondaries, Princeton Review, and interviews.
