I know NYCOM doesnt require one since I asked the dean of admissions at NYCOM myself. He told me that it is not required nor necessary. But he said if u can get one that would be nice too. :)
So in other wards it cant hurt not to

thanks!!!•••••You just have to divide 300km by 1.6....that'll give you the miles. <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" /> Okay, now that the smart-ass stuff is out of the way, here's a link that lists all the Osteopathic schools. Click on each one, and under the Supplementary Requirements you'll see whether the school requires or simply recommends a letter from a DO.
Hope it helps, and good luck!

I would call the osteopathic schools you are interested in.

I'm just guessing here, but you may be able to ask them to waive this part of the requirement based on your current situation.

Each year there are many international students who attend DO schools all throughout the U.S. It is highly unlikely that they all have letters of recommendation from a DO.

You can find a list of the schools on the AACOM website. I think another poster put the link there.

Good luck.

Check out the AACOM websit for schools you are interested. Here is a short list to help you get started.
UNECOM
NYCOM
KCOM
DMU
PCOM
Ohio-COM
TCOM
UMDNJ-SOM

msu also doesnt require a D.O. letter. They just want letters from two people that know you well

i believe that azcom requires one, but in talking with the admissions dept. i would imagine that they would be really understanding. Having a physician who really knows you is much better than someone you met simply for the letter--imo.

I'm pretty sure LECOM requires a letter from a DO as well. (I think I blocked out the whole application process from my brain once I got into school... :D )

i got into UNECOM without a letter from a DO - not sure if that's an absolute, though
