So I had asked a sci prof to write me a letter back in June and he agreed. I've been trying to reach him but apparently he's been out of town and won't be back until 8/25. I'm planning to go to his office when he gets back. Let's assume he is still willing to write one and that he wants two weeks. How will this affect the submission of my secondaries? Some say to not put his name down if I'm not sure he will write it - and therefore my submission will be delayed. Some say that go ahead with it but it will just delay adcoms from looking at my app. What do you all think?

Thanks in advance!

i think you should find someone else.. 8/25 is really rather late.. do you have a premed committee?

I'd go with finding someone else but I just wanna say...that's a bit of a jerk move on his part.

8/25 may not be THAT late...when will you be done w/most of your 2ndaries? if it's around that time, then you won't be complette anyways. then you can always overnight deliver that letter or something...but considering he left town w/o writing the letter he might pull some other **** again...
that happened to me too so i'm waiting for my prof. to get back from africa in august . goodluck!!

No pre-med committee. I am just hoping he will keep his word. I know I don't have a right to a letter, but I wish he'd let me know what was up. So far I don't have any secondaries to turn in that need his letter, which is good. It's just been hard finding other profs since I've graduated. I've emailed some, but no one responded. =/

Thanks for the help! =)
