Scooby is the man! 😀 😀

Scooby decided that $50 was wayyyyyy too much to pay for a cab to go from Detroit Airport to Ann Arbor. So, after getting off the plane, scooby decided he was going to find someone to share a ride with. After loitering for a bit, scooby went up to one really hot girl (ahem..woman) that had been on his flight. Scooby asked "Excuse me, are you going to Ann Arbor by any chance?"
The woman looked at scooby like he was a freak and said, "No, Toledo"...To prevent Scooby from looking like a total mutt, he asked 3 people next to her just for the hell of it and everyone said no.
Scooby returned to the lobby and decided he was finally just going to part with 50 bucks to take a cab. Just then, two HOT women (one was actually only 18 so that's still probably a girl 🙂) started walking by. Scooby knew he had to act. He walked up and asked if they were going to Ann Arbor. They replied "yes". Scooby then worked some magic and got a ride with two beautiful women (who happened to be sisters). The one girl was in EECS graduate school at the university (definitely not the major I was expecting her to say 🙂 )
Lesson learned. Save money. Talk to strangers. Ride in other people's cars who you don't know. Talk a lot. Be nice!
I ended up hanging out with both of them and another of their friends the night after my interview. We were out until 330am in ann arbor. Crazy night..lots of fun. Great school. Everything was still open at 3am!!!
So everyone. Be social. Save money. 😛 😛 😛

scooby is weird, but succesful...
😀

Hey Scoob..sounds like a hell of a time. Ann Arbor is a great town. However, once women reach grad school, they're usually called a woman...not girl. 😉 (I'm taking a womens studies course right now...getting into it too much.)

Alicia

Women actually prefer to be called women and not girls? I've seen senior citizens call their wives girls and their wives call them boys. I actually took a ride from a stranger one time, I was trying to get to the airport but the shuttle from my school wasn't running, so I asked these two strangers to drive me to the metro station. It was actually really scary when they got onto the beltway and I didn't know where they were taking me, I thought that i was a goner for a while. Turns out they were just driving me to a different metro station.

Scooby, what can I say - you're a role model for us all. Just don't tell my girlfriend I said that. 😉

Regarding the woman/girl issue - I can only say that if I was a female, I would prefer to be caller a 'girl' till the day I died...it would make me feel young...man, its time to get some fresh air...80 degrees and sunny in Tucson - can't beat it!

man scooby, you need to have a class on how to be like u.

ahhhhh your ego has pulled me out of my posting cave--you think you are so hot it's unbelievable!!! who ARE you?!?! for a guy with as much "game" as you have, you sure had a hard time getting ANY kinda action in nashville 😱 oooooh! haha just teasin kid

how did you like the school scoob? did you feel good about your interviews?

If I were a girl, I would like to be called a 'Female'.

hm. I wouldn't advice riding with strangers...

Yes Mother.. 🙄

I was teasing Scooby, btw... 😉

I liked to be called a woman, for the record. This coming from someone who carries a McDonalds happy meal barbie in her backpack...but, yea, call me a woman, please. 🙂

Alicia

Well, I'm SuperWoman by day...BadGirl by night 😉

Nashtrash...Haha...I wasn't saying looks or anything like that got me a ride. It's all about making people feel comfortable and getting a sense for the people around you. In nashville, I wasn't impressed with the "XX chromosome carriers" at the bars. (there, that terminology solves EVERYTHING! 🙂) That and scooby was having a wonderful time with you and jordon. I wouldn't have asked for it any other way nashtrash.

none: Yea..that's true...It really depends...I tend to get myself into wierd situations. I can generally pick a good person out of a crowd and have a great conversation. It's not for everyone....but I think being an "XY chromosome holder" helps if you ever try this.

I don't know what I am saying anymore. Disregard scooby posts...

nochaser: Can scooby meet "BadGirl"???? 😀 😀 😀 😛 😛 😛

Isn't it so much fun talking in third person!!!!! 🙂

Of course Scooby can meet BadGirl. Hope Daphne doesn't get jealous!!!

Could we expect anything else from the Scoobs. Always using his killer looks to get the females. All those other canines must get sooo jealous. Actually, if I were a guy I don't think I'd have qualms about getting a ride from a female, whereas since I'm a girl I'd probably pick some family to hitch a ride with....IF I were ever in Scooby's position.

So anyways I was talking to my friend who happened to be an EECS graduate student, and she was like, "I gave this guy a ride from the airport to ann arbor for an interview"

I almost hit the ground laughing, so I showed her the post. She loved it. Take care.

Hahha...
So you are the one!!!
Yea... She (the EECS grad) asked me that last night 🙂
I was like..."OOPS"...hahaha...luckily she liked it 🙂

That's just great huh 🙂
I was asking her who it was who showed her the post but she wouldn't say!
Oh well...Funny $hit...Now I know 🙂
So edogg..how do you like Umich?

Damn! that's awesome 😉. WOOHOO Scoobs! Bet you choose ann arbor ! Did you get their numbers? 🙂

About the girl thing. I don't really care about being called a girl. You know, it only seems to be in the US where this sort of thing matters. In europe, people call each other "girlies" even, or something like that which could probably even be considered a diminuitive of "girl". Not a big issue

Leorl...
It's okay...sweetheart.

(reference to scrubs) 🙂 hehe

Kudos on the Scrubs reference!

Scoob & edogg...
Holy ****, this is one small world!! 😀

Oh and Scoob, I also shared a cab ride, but this was when I came home from my Columbia interview (so as not to miss Scrubs)...I too shared (that sounds kinda dirty) with a hot girl, but alas, she was engaged...

I just got out of college and I am not used to looking for rings! 😉

Oh and girls (women if you please...), guys do unfortunately think like this, but please don't judge us too harshly for it.

From now on, all interviews will be compared to Scooby's benchmark michigan interview.
Major props Scooby!

"Don't judge you too harshly"? Hmmm...I hate to state the obvious, but scooby is a dog! 😉

I believe its referred to as dawg. 😉

So edogg..how do you like Umich?

Umich is the greatest school. I've been in Ann Arbor for 3 years now and I love it. I was just talking to a friend about it:

1)The med school is in the top 10
2)You can walk anywhere anytime and feel safe
3)Ann Arbor knows how to party, there's so much to do around campus
4)So many cool bike/running trails around; also places to kayak, hike, camp, and ski in the awesome winter.
5)Home of the Big House the largest stadium in the nation, UM football is the greatest.

I thought that I would look outside of Ann Arbor for a first choice medical school, but I am now pretty sure that Umich is my top choice. If any of you are interviewing and staying a night, send a post, if I'm around I'll show you an awesome time. If anybody is interviewing friday, I'll see ya there.

Remember Edogg: I was JUST THERE with your EECS friend 🙂
She showed me around on Friday night...even though it was an undergrad party it was still decent. We basically walked around forever that night all over and it seemed pretty safe.
Do you go to Umich med school right now?
How are the facilities?
That's the one thing i thought was lacking...during the tour, we did not see much of the hospital. 🙁
Did you give a tour or anything?
