Welcome SDNers!!!

In support of SDN's 2017 Admissions Prep Week (April 3rd-7th), APE Advisor Prep® is thrilled to be giving away 55 free full length practice CASPer® tests to SDN members, a total value of over $1,600 !!!!

For those that are just finding out, CASPer® is an online-based situational judgment test (SJT) required for admissions at an increasing number of medical schools in the United States and world wide. The test consists of 12 sections lasting approximately 90 minutes and uses open ended questions and videos to measure personal/professional characteristics like ethics, empathy, communication, resilience, judgement, teamwork, and much more.

In 2016 alone, over 40,000 applicants were required to take the CASPer® test making it one of the fastest growing requirements for applicants to health professions related programs.

Applicants are generally familiar with standardized tests like MCAT® but CASPer® is different because applicants are not being assessed on a single correct answer. Instead the test is hand scored by human evaluators and applicants’ responses are ranked and scored against each other, making it that much more difficult to achieve a higher score on this test. To top it off, applicants never receive their results, leaving them in the dark on their performance.

This is why advance test preparation is the key to performing well on CASPer. The current research literature including studies done by Cullen, Sackett and Lievens (2006) examined the coachability of SJTs such as CASPer for consideration as selection instruments in high-stakes testing. As expected, CASPer is not immune to test preparation and the authors concluded that an applicant’s performance on tests like CASPer could be enhanced by advanced coaching and preparation.

Here is where we come in. At APE Advisor Prep® our founder has worked directly alongside with the creator of the CASPer® test and our test authors all have previous firsthand experience with CASPer® scoring. We've created APE CASPer SIM, home of the world's most popular practice CASPer® tests and we're very excited to help the SDN community conquer CASPer®!

University of British Columbia (UBC) medical school!

Stanford! Just curious if raffle winners are allowed to transfer their win to another person?

that shouldn't be an issue if you win and allow another person to redeem as long as that other person does not double dip by entering into the raffle.
