I'm leaving for Spain on Monday (July 1). I'll be gone for all of July. How much will this interfere with filling out secondaries? If schools have online secondaries, it won't be a problem, but I think doing paper apps could be bad. Maybe I could have my parents fax a paper app to me to work on. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions for dealing with secondaries while traveling?

Thanks
(Recommendations on what to see in Spain are also appreciated. )

Hi, I lived in Spain until I was 21 so here are my suggestions. Make sure you visit Cuenca it is a beautiful city and lots to see, the North of Spain is also amazing especially Galicia (the food is great), the South has it's own special charm with lots of Moorish influence so make sure you hit Granada and Seville if possible. I am assuming you will be flying into Madrid so check out downtown Madrid (my favorite city and where I grew up). Good luck!

Thanks for the advice efex101. I'll be staying in Madrid at the Univesidad Complutense (Colegio Santa Monica), so I'll definitely see the city. I think I'll also have time to see the north and south.

i think most schools have on-line secondaries - but for the ones that don't you are allowed to used photocopied/faxed versions. have fun - take in the architecture of anontio gaudi!

I'm starting to realize that the real question isn't whether or not I'll be able to fill out secondaries, but really whether or not I'll be able to stop obsessively checking SDN.

I was in Guatemala from the middle of June until the end of September. As was said before, many schools have online secondaries so that makes things easier. As for the others, here is what I did.

Usually I had my parents email me the questions on the form and then sent them back the answers. They filled out the form and then attached a letter that we had composed describing the situation and indicating that they had the authority to fill out the forms and sign for me.

Occasionally, if the secondaries werent due to soon, I just left them and dealt with them all when I got home (this did not put me behind... I still got all the interviews I wanted).

And, once I had them fax me an app, filled it out and mailed it back to the school. IT ACTUALLY MADE IT BACK (which is the biggest miracle of all).

Dont worry about it too much. You will be fine. You can do any of the above and on the other hand you probably would be fine just leaving them all until you got back and sending letters of explanation as to why they are late (this worked for me).
