Does anyone know if there are any D.O. schools that require you to volunteer in underprivileged areas as a prerequisite for admissions? Does Western dedicate a whole essay to decribing experiences while volunteering in underprivilege areas?

none require serving in underpriveledged areas...however, yes - Western does have an essay that you write about your experiences serving in a medically or economically underpriveledged place. that shouldn't be too hard though - just go to the homeless shelter and volunteer there a few weekends and you'll definitely get some stories =) or a missions trip is good too!
