Just had one question and I know there must be a past thread on this...but do most schools send out secondaries even though one does meet the bare minimum requirements just to get your money?
I can't speak for all of the DO schools, but here is what I have found out/been told about the Touro application process...
1) TUCOM receives approximately 4000 primary applications.
2) From these 4000, TUCOM extends approximately 2000 invitations to complete their supplemental application.
3) If you receive an invitation to complete a supplemental application, TUCOM's dept of admissions has a sincere belief that you will be a successful student at their school.
I don't know how other schools select who will get secondaries and who will not. I know that there are schools that do not screen primary applications, that is they accept secondaries (and the accompaning fee, of course) so long as they have received a primary application from you. This is not the case at Touro, which I think is the appropriate way to handle the first stage of the application process... No promises are made, rather you are told the truth, that you have a fighting chance to make it to the next level of competition.
some has a minimum score of 2.5, some 2.75. some mcat is at 6, some is at 7, i think.
they will reject you if you don't meet their minimum requirement. just send them an email, and ask them. you can get more real answers from them than posting it on here.
