Want to prepare the NBDE 2. Right now I am confused which material should I use. If any one have this kind of experience or materials please give me a hand. Your suggestion will be very helpfull, and your material will be paid.

Thanks,

hi there ,
am in the same boat too. heard that for part two dental decks will do & that kaplan isnt good. & have heard that part two is easier than part one .......do u have any idea about this ????

Hi,

Yes, it is said that Dental Decks is good enough. I checked with Kaplan, at least I do not like it.

Personally, I do not like materials like question and answers, I am looking for some materials organized like a lecture I can read through in systems. So far I have noo idea where can I find this kind of materials.

hi ,
happen to hear about duggand's notes !!! have u heard anything like that before , i mean for part 2 prepration.
do u think its necessary to go through that notes ???

I doubt it .... given part 2 failure rate for domestic students is about 2x higher.

The case study is the difficult one, more so for international dentists. Not too many released exams catering to that part.

Dental decks and old exams are your best bet. To cover more ground the Duggans notes follow by Kaplan book.

The reason why Part II scores are usually lower than PArt I is this:
Most students are being tested on material they are real familiar with( Dental Clinical Sciences) and so more and more students get more right answers, in the great scheme of things this translates into less curving and so ur likely to get a score that's closer to your performance in the exam.

FWIW most foreign dentists I know of scored MUCH worse in part 2 compare to part 1 (> 85 in part 1 and sub 80 in part 2). The grading curve favors domestic students because the part 2 format is similar to exams in US schools. Part 1 deals more with basic knowledge and therefore less dependent on where one graduates.

Have no idea about why, all the persons I know said their part 2 scores are lower comparing part 1.

hi,
just went through the duggansdds, the fees is too much i think , & might not be worth atleast for part 1 & 2 .
i think its better to start with dental decks & may be we will get to know which area r subject need additional books r notes .

ok, I've been trying to find the duggan's notes on their website, but so far nothing shows up.

what are the notes "real" name? could you please post the direct link towards the notes for part 2? or at least tell who to look for it on their website?

thanks
