Hello:
I would like the opinion of physicians on several issues that have been troubling to me recently. I am going through a mini life-crisis; as I am struggling to find life's "answers" and put an end to my religious agnosticism, in favor of belief in a deity. I feel that I need to believe in the afterlife in order to be happy... but that's another matter. Here are my questions:
[In the context of the Mind vs. Body (Brain) Debate] - Is it at all conceivable that "mind" and "brain" are separate functions? Is it possible that human consciousness is a function of the "mind" rather than the brain?
Do you feel that one can believe in science and still believe in an afterlife?
Thank You
