Hello... man this is NOT good... I just checked my 'already submitted' AMCAS and noticed that they put 6 semester hours for my physics and chem and bio which had labs... I think it should have been 8 MAN now I'll never get into med school... because they'll think I don't have the prerequisites

yep, with a clerical error like that, you are screwed...no med school for you. i think you might be worse off than that other guy who got one speeding ticket, or that girl who had one F in a course that she repeated an got an A in the second time around....all three of you are certainly heading to a foreign school now.

Just make a note of it in your secondaries or if reqs arent discussed in secondaries, just email the adcoms.

Hi there,

Definitely e-mail the admissions offices of the schools to which you are applying to inform them of the error, and try to appeal to AMCAS to change your semester hours to reflect the reality.

Cheers,
Kirsteen

So if you have a speeding ticket, The adcoms can know that or hold that against you???

Good advice--don't just let it sit and hope they ask about it. Address the problem up front. Follow-up the e-mail with a postal letter. You can fix the situation, it's just a pain in the a$$ ... AMCAS screwed up my semester hours, too. That's why we pay them the big bucks ...

Don't all schools require that you finish their prerequisites by the time you MATRICULATE? If you say you'll take a class this year (and do it), they should let you in. FSU requires 6 sem. hours of Biochemistry... I doubt many people take those two courses by the end of their junior year.

Has anyone heard of poeple being rejected because of a few prereqs not yet done?

No, I think he was just being sarcastic.

ahhaha
people are so uptight
how many of the people here are the kind that give us pre meds a evil name ?

just let your adcoms know, its a simple error. and nobody gives a crap if u get speeding tickets or one F that became a A (lucky bastards!). seriously i doubt the adcoms put their whole life into dissecting one application.

Hi All,

I e-mailed the ADCOMS and am calling AMCAS right now... anyhow, the schools I e-mailed said that they noted the discrepency or put it in my file... k' hope that holds 'em

Your proverbial chain is being yanked, if you think this will keep you out of med school.
