Am I supposed to send an updated transcript to the schools that are still considering me? I never really thought of it, but it seems like many of you have done this. My grades last semester were ok... I don't think they will help or hurt my application (they're consistent w/ my grades from previous semesters). If the school hasn't requested an updated transcript, is it really that important? Is this a common practice? Should I send it to AMCAS, or the schools directly? Would it be better for me to write a letter to them to update them on my life (not that much has changed), tell them that I'm still very interested in them, and tell them last semester's grades? Do I have to send an official transcript, or would a copy of my grade report suffice? Sorry for the millions of questions, but I'm a neurotic pre-med. ;-)

I don't know the CORRECT procedure, but if I were you...

I think the best thing would be to send them an updated transcript. If anything it shows that YOU are still interested. I would send it to the school directly. If you send it to AAMCAS who knows what may happen to it. I would include with your transcript a brief letter telling them you're still interested and you wanted them to be sure that they had your complete transcript.

Good luck!

If you're going to send a transcript, send it to the school directly, because the transcripts you send to AMCAS don't get sent to the schools (only that report).

Many schools, after acceptance require a final transcript to be sent because of this.
