Hi,

Sorry I am being kind of an idiot and just trying to think out loud, so I hope I don't waste anyones time w/ my somewhat silly question.

Basically here is the situation. I am shadowing an awesome dentist that graduated from Ohio State, served on the admissions committee, and taught some preclinical classes. Obviously I see this as a huge advantage, especially since he was involved in admissions.

So it would be totally worth it to look seriously into Ohio State w/ a connection like that don't you think? I would be an idiot not to, I would think.

Anyway, OSU sounds like a great school, and obviously they produce some great dentists.

I am just wondering if anyone knows some specific ways in which this dentist might be able to help me w/ getting into OSU perhaps, given that situation. Obviously letters of rec would be beneficial, but anything else (besides the obvious that he will be able to help me really understand what they school is looking for)?

Sorry again for the awkward question, but I just want to make sure I am thinking straight.

Thanks,

lg

Of course it would be beneficial. You would be an idiot not to jump on this opportunity. A LOR, in my opinion, would be a big boost if this dentist is well-liked and left the university on good terms.

I wouldn't ask of any other favors of this guy, as if he likes you he will probably contact the school directly to butter you up.

Milk this opportunity, baby!!
