hey guys

i'm in the middle of filling out AMCAS for this year and had a question

is shadowing and volunteering both required?

or is either one fine

I currently volunteered at a hospital(school one) for 1 and a half years

but have no shadowing experience.

should I go ahead and look for shadowing? (how do u do this btw)

or should i be fine with volunteering at a hospital

Your hospital experience is fine. Shadowing is great, but not a lot of people have it and those that do usually don't have more than a few weeks. So don't sweat it, also it looks a lil bit like resume padding to put in on the AMCAS this late.

Agreed. I know I had issues shadowing with my clinic due to HIPAA, volunteering is usually easier to secure

What is shadowing?

I am new and still in high school. Thanks.

Shadowing is when you follow a doctor around and watch him as he deals with patients
