if you had a short interview (i.e. one that last 15 minutes instead of the scheduled 30 min), will you please post whether you were accepted or not by that school?

3. i've usually heard that it's a good sign to have a short interview because it means the guy got everything he wanted to know about you in those few minutes, and now he can make his decision. usually it's good, i think. but i may be wrong.

my interview at SLU was 30 minutes, but i think it was supposed to be about 45. so i thought it was too short. i'll let you know if it worked out in about 2 weeks.

I had a short interview around 15 minutes at Columbia and I was accepted. I had short interviews at washu and temple but I withdrew my application not too long after my interviews so I dont know.

I've had both extremes:

GW - 15 minutes, waitlisted
Rush - 95 minutes, accepted

I prefer the long ones...

One of my Duke interviews lasted only 15 minutes. It ended after I got five questions on geography wrong in a row. I'll let you know on Friday how I did...

These faculty interviewers are busy people and sometimes are obligated to do these interviews. I wouldn't hold it as good or bad.

Short interviews and results:
1. Temple- 15 minutes (if that), acceptance 5 weeks later
2. MCP- 20 minutes, acceptance

Long interviews and results:
1. GW- 2hrs (w/Dean of Admissions), alternate list then acceptance
2. Einstein- 2hrs, acceptance

The only other interview I had was at NYMC and it was around 25 minutes which is normal.

Legi,
I sent you a PM, I also had a 15 minute interview last week at Einstein. Just asked about my family and let me go. I'm sure if this is a good or bad sign.

Less than 10 minutes - haven't heard anything yet from Cornell - I'm assuming the worst since some people on here have heard already.

1hour @ Einstein - accepted

This is my first post... hopefully it will help someone! One of my interviews at Cornell was about 15-20 minutes long and I was accepted last week.

Case, interview = 15 mins (scheduled for 30-1hr)
Accpetance 2 weeks after.

I really think it is just some people's style of interviewing. Some interviewers want you to spoonfeed them everything you have already written, some just want to see that you are a "real" person and maybe clarify a few things.

My interviewer at UCLA was about 20 minutes late and the interview only lasted 20 - 30 minutes instead of the usual hour. I'll let you know what happens.

My interview at Hopkins went for about 10 minutes. We talked about my family, and just as I thought we had gotten past the intro stage into a real discussion, he said "well, I don't want to waste any more of your time."

Fortunately, I got in, so I'm glad he didn't waste any more of my time

I know :( I will definitely let you know if I get a reply from Mr. Silverman. Apparently a couple of people on here have emailed him in the past, and it seems that he does not reply back - at least not in any timely manner.

I had a 15 minute interview at Columbia, which seems pretty common, but I ended up getting waitlisted.
