Hey all,

I've tried searching for an answer on here, but to no avail. Do any of you have experiences or know of short-term (i.e., 2-3 week long) pre-med volunteer programs here in the United States? There seem to be quite a few international programs out there, which I'd love to do, but I'm too poor for most of those and too chicken to get on an airplane anyway. 😳

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ugh, no kidding. I'd love to volunteer in a Latin American country, but all the programs that offer such opportunities are either missions or cost no less than a couple thousand dollars.

Your best bet is probably just local programs; volunteering at a hospital, soup kitchens, joining community service programs around your school, etc.
