I am sorry for making this into a thread, but I needed some opinions.

Stats: GPA 3.73
MCAT--pending
Research: Started at end of junior year in high school and have continued in the same lab. Dietary based approach to cancer.
Also, did the summer reserach program at end of freshman year at UCSF.

Though I was luck enough to find a novel product or rather new biochemical pathway...I didn't get a publication 🙁 Control experiments kept up blowing up in my face

Undergrad: A UC (not UCB or UCLA)

Okay that's it.

Thanx in advance.

You sound like a good applicant. . . Nice amount of research, good grades. If you can verbalize "why MD/PhD" you should be just fine. And don't like get a 2 in VR. 😉

Have any particular schools peaked your interest?

Thanks for the reply and encouragement. I really really like the UCLA/Caltech program. It seems like a excellent mix of tech. and bio---bio/medical sciences. Having visited UCLA, the campus is also very appealing. But with my GPA I know I am dreamin'.
🙁

Your GPA is fine, dude. Just kick the MCAT's ass, and be well-versed in your research. We're here for advice or if you have questions. =)

Wow, I really appreciate it Canem. Helps the confidence. Thank you again.

I second CaNEM: as long as you kick ass on the MCAT, you'll be a very good applicant. And DO NOT underestimate the writing (personal statements, etc.) and especially the interview.
Good luck.
