Looks like you have a great application lined up!

I think I read something on SDN about Georgetown having odd admissions practices? so if I were applying now, I'd maybe look into that.

You might also consider Yale if you want research opportunities and support (and it's not far from NYC).

I am an East Asian male from NY. I am applying this upcoming cycle and will have taken 2 gap years by (hopeful) matriculation.

GPA: 3.75, sGPA: 3.65

MCAT: 518

ECs:
  • 1,000 hours of research with one poster
  • 300 clinical volunteering
  • 200 non-clinical
  • 2000 clinical work experience as pediatrician's assistant
  • 100 hours shadowing
  • Significant leadership roles in service organization, teaching, and play production (VP or above)
  • 200 hours teaching anatomy and physiology in college
  • Notable: Fulbright Scholar to Malaysia - taught English to minority groups, worked with policy
  • Underprivileged work with mentally-challenged children, free clinic, during my Fulbright to my service population.
Other:
  • First generation college student, American
  • Applying disadvantaged, FAP-approved
My school list is pretty condensed at the moment. I have 16 primaries that can be submitted free of charge. I would prefer to not apply to more than 25 schools. Please help me out, thank you!

School List:
  • Albany
  • Albert Einstein
  • Brown
  • Columbia
  • Cornell**
  • Drexel
  • Duke**
  • Georgetown**
  • GWU
  • Hofstra
  • Jefferson
  • Mount Sinai
  • NYMC
  • NYU**
  • Stony Brook
  • SUNY Downstate
  • SUNY Upstate
  • SUNY Buffalo
  • Temple
  • U Penn
  • U Pittsburgh
  • U Rochester
** means I don't know if I should even apply... would appreciate advice.

Ideally, I would like to get into a top school where I can do research, my gap years have helped me determine what kind of physician/person I want to become. Unfortunately, my research experience (no pubs) fails to back it up.
Nothing wrong with aiming high for a rock start.

I suggest:
Yale
WashU
Vanderbilt
NYU
U Chicago
U Penn
Northwestern
JHU
Harvard
Stanford
Sinai
Cornell
Columbia
Duke
U VA
U MI
UCSF
BU

USF Morsani
Ohio State
Hofstra
U IA
Albert Einstein
Emory
Rochester
Dartmouth

U VM
All SUNYs

Here's my final list. Is it okay or too ambitious?
