I have applied last 3 cycles and interviewed every time. This cycle I interviewed with 3 schools but have not heard anything yet. (no rejection either). I am scheduled to graduate with M.S. in July 2012. My current gpa in masters program is 3.8. Should I apply early for next cycle or wait for my final grades?
PLEASE advise. Thanks

you need to give out wayyyyyyyyy more info before anyone can give you any good advice. Did you apply with a high GPA the last 3 cycles and still not get in? If that's the case, it's not your GPA that's holding you back. It could be your DAT, interviewing skills, EC, PS. Who knows..

I agree that you're being vague. If you want better advise, it's probably a good idea to out more info.

Based on what you have provided.... A 3.8 GPA is good. You can apply in July after your final grades are out and you graduate. You should also see if there are other setbacks in your application and work on them before June/July.

Sorry guys, I forgot to post details. My mistake and I apologize. Here are my stats with which I applied last cycle(s).
gpa: 3.21 sgpa: 3.26 DAT: 20AA 19TS 24PAT

With my second undergrad degree, if I apply next cycle, my grades will be as follow:
gpa:3.31 sgpa:3.32 (undergrad) 3.8 (grad) (M.S. Biomedical Sciences)

Research: 480 Hours
Shadowing: Orthodontist (330 Hrs), General Dentist (90 Hrs), Pediatric Dentist (100 hrs)
Extracurricular / Volunteer / Community Service: 1500 + Hours
Leadership: 2 years (elected)

Everything looks good to go (especially since you've showed incredible improvement with the 3.8 in the grad program).

Anything in particular that would make you stand out? Manual-dexterity skills? Hobbies? Also, apply early since you've already got your DAT scores, which looks good btw. I see you didn't list your RC score -- a lot of schools place great emphasis on the RC section of the DAT. And also make sure none of your subsections are below 17.

4th time? Might want to look at something else. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

If you had spent more times on your studies and less on your ECs the results might have been different.

Submit your application as early as possible. You can update your grades while your application is still being processed and sent to schools. Fax over a copy of your transcript to the schools you apply to once you get it and be sure to update with a certified copy.

Also, work on your interview skills. If you make it to the interview part and fall short after that, then there is probably something you can do better with that part of the application process.

Great job on improving your application for the next cycle! You're undergrad GPA isn't so good, but now you got a masters with a 3.8. Should help out a lot.

However, it is strange that you have gotten interviews each cycle but have not gotten an acceptance. Your interviewing skills may need improvement.

Also, you might already know this, but check to see if your DATs are still good for next cycle. Good luck.

Sometimes schools look at age as well. I know a few ppl who applied at 20-21 and the schools rejected them bc of age. How old are you?
Youre applications seems pretty strong. Maybe your interview skills are not that great. you need a lot of practice. Did you get interviewed in the past cycles as well?
How many schools have you applied to? school look at all the schoola you have a pplied to to see if you really want to become a dentist. That what the admissions from UoP said. They want to know that you are interested in graduating, not just attending their school.
But i think your situation has more to do with the lack of communication in your interviews or something in your past transcripts that is holding you back. Otherwise, i don't see why they didn't accept you the first cycle. Good luck!

It honestly depends on how you feel about it. I think you have the stats to get in somewhere. Especially if you had 3 interviews. But keep in mind that admission committees can usually tell who is genuinely interested in the profession. Maybe that's your problem?

Apply as soon as possible. If you are done in July transcripts should be uploaded to the application service by August/Sept. That's not too late for this cycle. Good luck.
